The story behind the design: The erosion of the rights we hold to be self-evident leads America away from the path of Liberty and Justice, putting the Statue on her deathbed. By jeopardizing our reputation with state sponsored torture, illegal search and seizures, and wrongful imprisonments, the American people have sat idly by as the world seeks out hope in a place gone more maddeningly unstable by the hour. If the public does not heal from the self-inflicted chronic diseases of apathy and indifference, her coffin will be lowered into the ground. This is a PROGRESS original design.
